Once installed, open the Act On It Lightning App from the Salesforce's App Launcher and click through the tabs. You’ll see examples already in place and get a feel for how alerts, prompts, and actions work together.

Create Your Message Type

Every Act On It notification starts with a Message Type. This is where you define what the message looks like, what it says, how it is delivered, and what actions recipients can take directly from the alert. Get this right and the rest falls into place.

Message Types are designed to be quick to build and easy to iterate on. Admins control the setup, managers can shape the content, and end users can personalise how they receive alerts.


Getting started

  1. Open the Act On It Lightning app and go to the Message Types tab.
  2. Click New to begin.
  3. Work through the tabs to configure the content, design, delivery options, and available actions.
  4. Fire a test message to see exactly what recipients will experience before you go live.

Once your message type is saved, head to the Message Automation tab to connect it to the rules that control who gets notified and when. 


You can automate delivery using flow or Act On It's very own notification builder.

To create a new notification, open the Act On It Lightning app, navigate to the Notifications tab, and click New.
