Activity Tracking actions exist solely for tracking and reporting purposes as part of Act On It's Activity Tracking framework. They can be used for capturing key milestones, events and activities, which can be visualized through an event timeline, and reported on at-scale to gain deeper insights into the day-to-day operations.

See Activity Tracking for details.
To create an 'Activity Tracking' action, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the ‘Message Actions’ Tab (Act On It Lightning App > Application Settings > Message Actions) and click ‘New’.
- Select the ‘Act On It Template’ Record Type and choose 'Activity Tracking' from the list of available Action Templates. Then, select 'Next'.

Configure your action button with the following details:
- Action Label: Provide a meaningful name for the action (e.g., ‘Made Contact', ‘Record Assigned’, etc.). Customize the button further by selecting an icon from the ‘Icon Selection’ section.
- API Name: Choose a unique name for the action, without spaces or special characters (except underscores). This name helps distinguish between similar actions with a matching label.
- Is Active: NA for this action type.
- Is Available: Deselect for this action type.

Click 'Next' to proceed.
- Choose a compatible data type and click "Save".

Your action is now ready. Admins can now leverage flow automation to log activities and define "Activity Relationships" for additional insight. See documentation on Activity Tracking for more details.
