Getting started with Act On It is simple. The app is free to install, so you can try it out at no cost.

First, visit our listing on the Salesforce AppExchange and click "Get It Now" to begin installation.

You'll then need to decide whether to install in your production environment or a Sandbox. We recommend starting in a Sandbox to test that Act On It integrates properly with your Salesforce customizations.

Once you select the environment, review and accept the terms and conditions. Then log into the chosen Salesforce org to proceed with installation.

On the final page, choose "Install for Admins Only" and click Install. The process takes about 5 minutes. You'll receive an email when installation completes.

After clicking 'Install' the following will appear:

By granting access to this site, you are enabling the knowledge base to be accessible (via iframe) from within the Act On It app in Salesforce, as seen here:

We will never send or receive any data from this site. Click 'Yes, grant access to these third-party web sites' and continue to start the install.

After installing, the next step is assigning licenses. Navigate to Setup > Installed Packages and click "Manage Licenses" next to Act On It. Assign licenses to provide users access.

We recommend reviewing Salesforce's guide on Post Install Steps for helpful background. However, Act On It handles permission set assignments automatically when you designate User Types later on. So you can skip that piece for now.
